Reverend Canon Martin Batchelor
Vicar
Martin is married to Jill and has three daughters. He grew up in Swansea before studying computing at Plymouth and working as a computer programmer and systems analyst, before training for ordination at St. John's Nottingham. He was ordained in 1995 in Brecon Cathedral and served in churches in South Wales before moving to North Wales in 2000. Before coming to Northop, he was vicar of Bistre in Buckley and Borderlands Mission Area leader. Martin enjoys running and is a keen Park Runner. He is currently doing his Grade 5 piano and a Welsh learner, currently at Uwch level. He enjoys the opportunities and challenges of Ministry in Northop and seeing God at work.

Ken Massey
Pastoral Chaplain
Ken is married to Dorothy (Dot), and they have three sons and two grandchildren. Ken worked as an electrical/electronic technician for the MOD before moving to Kimberly Clark.
He has been involved with the church all of his life, serving at the altar at 13, Churchwarden for the first time at 21, and holding all of the other positions at various times. He joined Northop Church in 2011, when his home church in Oakenholt was closed.
When he was made redundant, he worked as a volunteer chaplain to both the college and the university situated in Northop, finishing after 8 years when they went professional and paid people.
Following several early short courses, which resulted in two Bishops certificates, Ken obtained his degree in Theology in the same year that he was licensed as a Pastoral Chaplain, at the same time continuing to act for several years as a facilitator on the degree course.

Dawn Wolstenholme
Lay Reader
Dawn grew up in Northop, attending St. Eurgain's church. She now resides in Flint. She trained as a Lay Reader in St. Padarn's College, Cardiff and worked alongside Martin in Bistre of Buckley while training. When he moved to Mold, she was thrilled to be asked to move and work alongside him.
She works for Flintshire County Council and is proud of working for the welfare of her community. She loves reading, films, and spending time with her family: Mum and Dad Sheila and Jack, sister Tracy and nephew Aled. Family and community is very important to her.
Her work in the Mold Mission Hub with Mold and Northop churches is a great privilege and gives her great joy as she sees the fellowship of both churches grow and thrive. She looks forward to continuing to get to know and work with the communities of Northop, Mold and surrounding areas.

Esther Andrews
Youth Worker
Hi, I'm Esther! I am a Youth and Children's Worker, based in the Mold Mission Hub which also encompasses Northop Church. I am married to Jon and we have two wonderful children. I have the best job in the world, because I get to lead a growing youth group (and eat lots of pizza), and do a mixture of chaplaincy and support sessions in Ysgol Maes Garmon and Ysgol Alun. And that's not all! I get to work with our brilliant teams in both churches to plan family craft mornings and holiday clubs. When not working, I love to paint, walk, kayak and chase my children around soft play. I hope to connect with you soon!

Melanie Hughes
Church Warden
Melanie and Michael Hughes are the church wardens for the church, as of 2nd March 2025. They live in Northop Hall and have been members of Northop church since 2019, when St. Mary's in Northop Hall closed, where they were church wardens. They were married in St. Mary's.
Melanie has been the church secretary since 2018. Michael is also the parish Safeguarding Officer.
